I was a camper in Children's Village during the deaf session from '88 until '99. Also, I worked as a counselor/lifeguard/program director between '01 and '04. I had many great experiences from working at BLC. It encouraged me to return to college to major in nursing. =)

I was just writing about my experiences as a camp counselor and lifeguard at Beacon Lodge and thought I would check out the website. I was a counselor/lifeguard in 1990 and 1991. I sure do miss those days. Beacon Lodge was one of the best jobs I ever had, and it also was the beginning of a long career of working with children. I currently work with special education students and have returned to college to go into teaching. I did notice there were several people that were counselors the same time I was, but I am having a hard time putting a face to those names. Anyway, to all those going to Beacon Lodge have a great time!!!
