GIVE US A CALL AT 814-542-2511 FOR MORE INFORMATION!

There are many different types of counselors here at Beacon Lodge, but ALL counselors take on the duties of a General Counselor! The summer is divided into 7 sessions. Counselors do receive a break between each session. Between the time of arrival in camp and opening day, all counselors are subject to call for special assignments. Throughout the camping season, you may be called upon to do various jobs which may not be covered by this job description, but will result in a better over-all camp program. In general the position of camp counselor at Beacon Lodge is not a job for one looking for a summer vacation. Life at camp can sometimes be hard, but the experience will prove to be rewarding and educational for both the counselor and the camper. Being a Counselor is a life changing experience. You will have the chance to work with and become friends with some of the most amazing people you have ever and will ever meet. This is the "toughest job you'll ever love!" You’ll never forget the memories you make here.

Recreation Management Internships are available and can be custom built to meet the requirements of the student’s academic department. Please e-mail the Camp Coordinator for more information.

IMPORTANT:

*The first day of pre-camp is May 30th for all staff.
*The last day of camp is August 12th.
Camp begins with a week of pre-camp training May 30-June 6, 2009. All counselors need to attend.
